The Town

Episode Twenty-Two begins with a simple assignment: describe the town of Cottuff for an out-of-town newspaper. The task quickly proves impossible. Facts are easy enough to gather—roads, railroads, businesses, history—but none of them explain what a place truly is. Instead, the narrator sets aside dates and landmarks in favor of the people.
